My stock cdi is restricted so I tried the one that came with my bbk but won't start. Then I ordered one that said it for for my model of scooter and all it does is crank over a couple of times then blows the fuse by the battery!!! I am really at a loss of what to do about finding an unrestricted cdi for this scooter! It is a 2007 Kymco People S 50 4 stroke, can anyone help???

I think you answered your own question in another set of posts. Using an AC CDI in a DC CDI scooter will cause problems. Remember, a DC CDI cannot start the engine w/o a functional connected battery as the battery provides power to the CDI for it to function. Disconnect the battery, crank, and watch for spark(ya gotta remove the hivolt lead, I know...) tom
