How do I increase compression without some expensive tools, and at which pressure should I stop?

Shave the head down untill the sparkplug shoots out...then add another gasket..lol.... good sealing valves & thinner gasket & or using rtv in place of cyl. Base gasket may help. Check the tech area for tips? These 139 qmb's dont like too much compression. Your electric starter will not like it either. Just my 2 cents worth.

I have been thinking about this also. Does anyone have any experience takeing out the head gasket and using copper spray in it's place to raise compression a little bit. I was thinking this could be a decent and easy way to shrink the combustion chamber a tiny bit without worrying about valves hitting and raising compression too much for the 139QMB engines. Where the head gasket isn't really thick to start off with but I guess using RTV instead of the base gasket would achieve the same results just a tad bit more work with pulling the cylinder as well. I tore up my base gasket on my first BBK and had to use RTV, just a work of caution( I know from experience) use it VERY carefully around your oil passages. I used a tad bit too much and got it all in my oil passages. It took FOREVER for me to get the passed in the crankcase and the rocker arm assembly cleaned out.. I found little fragments of RTV in my oil for like 4 or 4 oil changes. Granted those oil changes were about every 50-75 miles after I put in my BBK. I did it that often to make sure I got out all the RTV fragments and wouldn't have a clogged oil pump.
