so im looking at buying a fairly clean cfmoto echarm? not sure if thats the exact name cant find much info on it. doesnt have a kick start and its water cooled, was wondering if this is a gy6 motor?
also the guy said its jumping the volts on the batt to 15 or something? it melts the reg 12 volt batts, wondering if i replace the stator and the rectifier if that would fix the prob? how do i found out what rectifier or stator i need sounds more like the rectifier is messed up.
found out its the 1p58MJ
just editing to update:
found out ducati makes these motors? or atleast thats what inside of it says. second i have a bad starter clutch, trying to figure the part number for that out. found the regulator, ordered a batt, and trying to do the starter clutch tomorrow. if any one has some more info about this bike plz lmk i search the alpha-sports.com website and couldnt find it.

It should be a GY6-B engine.
Regulator sounds like a good try to me, but you may have to find it and see if it looks any different than other common GY6 regulators if no one else knows.

It may use a 3 phase stator and someone keeps using regulators for a 2 phase stator. if you see what looks like home rigged wiring where the connector connects then there ya go. A 2 phase stator will generally have 4 wires coming from it and a 3 phase stator will have one extra wire for a total of 5 wires. It could even have 6 depending on the configuration. But safe to say if there are MORE than 4 wires coming from the stator it's 3 phase. If there are only 4 wires then it's probably the normal 2 phase. In which case you can easily do the normal output tests on the stator. If the stator passes all the output tests, you probably have a short somewhere or a bad ground. of course, it's DEFINITELY possible to buy brand new regulators that are bad. I've purchased dozens and dozens of "brand new" regulators and found that about 10-15% are DOA. I suspect they were tried, fried and re-sold because they still look new on the outside usually.
No matter what, it shouldn't be too big a deal. I'd Gopher it. have fun!

awesome i think i am its close to home so ya guy said he uses a lawnmower battery to get it around some times lol. so ur saying it could possibly be a bad ground as well? i have found the stator already its def different then the ones ive seen. scrappydog has them and so does the manufacture.
i just wanted to make sure it was something half way simple as im in no way a bad ass like most of u.

ok so a lil more info he said hes tried different regulators and he could never find the right one the man is older so not sure how hard he looked, but he said the stator is putting off a lot of power is that normal?
he said at some point the original owner said he went to the dealer he got it from and replaced the regulator, now would this sound more of a wiring issue then? or just him getting a batch of faulty regulators from what i can tell these are harder to find then most.

How many wires coming from the stator to the connector? And has anyone jury rigged the wires or does it look original?
How many wire connection tabs on the regulator connector (that actually have a wire to them)? 4,5 or 6 ?
Hey, don't sweat it. These things aren;t a car. They're easy peasy so no matter what, you CAN fix it

lol thx man i appreciate all the info u guys give, im buying it tomorrow at 7:30 a.m so i wont kno if its been tampered with till then the guy seems pretty honest and he said its the original. i have a pic of the original part so ill compare it when he gets here. i dont wanna brag but im a big fuzzy ninja lol www.youtube.com/watch?v=JftJ3HYTEXY need this bike to be reliable so i can continue my dreams sorry to share some bs another thing he said happened is the fuel pump wentout at some point and he put 1 from a car or something in it? said that worked fine tho, like he went and found 1 sim idk if that matters. hes also road it for 2k miles with a lawn mower battery just says he has to stop every few miles and let the battery cool down

ok so i cannot find the motor number any were on the bike, did end up buying it was in fairly good shape for the price mainly missing screws and had a different seat rigged up to it. i drove it before i paid for it and the thing ran great, but after i went on a bit of a test drive to try and narrow some things down i stopped at a gas station to answer a txt i used the kill switch but left the key turn on for a min and after i went to start it back up it would not turn over just sounds like the starter turns but the motor dont fire? was thinking spark plug? gonna figure it out tomorrow. as far as i kno this is a stock bike and i hit 64 on a windy day on my gps so not bad some shit def needs to be bolted down the front handle bars seem a lil wobbly.
