I bought my brand new GY6 engine chinese scooter two months ago. I have started to get problems. On the first engine start of the day(or after an hour or more of non-use), scooter starts up perfectly on the first try but when I throttle, it will go for about 20 seconds, slow down, then die. When I try to restart the engine, it takes several attempts before it will start, then when I throttle, it will go for short distance, slowdown, and die again. It even dies when I let go of throttle or stop at stop sign. After about 5-10 mins repeatedly dying and restarting, bike performs as it should, no stalls or anything. Any ideas on why it is doing this?

It is possible your vacuum controlled fuel valve is acting up. When it quits like that is there any fuel in the float bowl? Unscrew the little screw in the carb float bowl drain and see what your fuel flows out like, if any.
