so I did my research and I removed the pair system. After much work on the carb and a few other things and no start I checked compression. 30 psi!! So I figured I would hook the pair back up to see if it made a difference but I can't remember how! Everything I find on the web is for removal. Someone please feel sorry for this rookie...

It won't.
I've removed it from hundreds of scooters.
The low compression is unrelated.
check your valve adjustment.
If that's not it time to pop the head & cylinder off. (easy peasy)

Thanks for that info. I’m at a loss. Recently disassembled the head, liquid tested, lapped the valves, replaced gaskets, torqued the bolts to specs. Not sure what else to do.
