Does anybody have temp gauge installed and can give your temp readings ?

How come you don't overheat and warp when it goes that high 250F is 120C.

The temps sound high if you're used to watching coolant temp in liquid cooled machines, but they're common in air cooled engines.

I like the technical way this guy measures the oil temp on his scooter and where the temp runs at.
"oil temp seems to be good, it seems to maintain itself at being a cow"

Just wondering... do you have a head temp sensor and gage? If you had a proper head temp sensor, you may find your engine running over 360 degrees.
The biggest problem with “running” temp is where and how the temp is taken. More important is that the most important temp to know is head temp. The upper end is where your engine is going to melt

I pay basically no attention to my oil temp on the TaoTao. I didn't even bother to put the gauge back on after re-arranging my bars. It's basically good just to know that, yes these things run high oil temps and that oil coolers help. The CHT actually shows that oil coolers help just fine on it's own though.

Oil temps do run high on these little engines , i usually change oil often due to heat breaking it down faster than usual . It helps me sleep at night..lol.
