What could be the results or what should I check Since I plugged my crankcase vent for a short time, And then seen gas in the oil, I did drain it, soon as I caught it.. it seems to run okay and it's been a month or two but what could be the damages if any? And I just don't get it, I have to turn my air mixture screw all the way down (to the right) that's no gas right? before it seems to idle any better? And then there's still the question is gas still getting in my oil? And did find the gas on my air filter? And now rechecking the spark plug, The Electro looks light gray to white and that's a sign of freaking running too lean....What the heck? Overall the performance is a little underpowered and the noise of a up-down rhythm in the motor when it is under any kind of load . Please tell something I have over looked? And I have tried 3 times to clean the carb. and double check ports needles vents you name it, if you can see my other questions and comments I have looked in a lot of directions.

Duh... I took the gas peacock off and ran it straight to carburetor. Didn't know that could be a problem?

Oh another question how do you know if the float needles not seating right or not?

When the float needle fails, you will get fuel running into the carburetor float bowl until it overflows. When I had that problem, it flowed out the air cleaner (when parked on the center stand) and fell on the floor. If the float is set too high, or the needle not attached to the float arm properly, it may just fill the float bowl to a too-high level, leading to over-rich running condition. It may contaminate the lube oil, or not. Pull the dipstick and check for a smell of fuel. It would be readily apparent if fuel had flowed into the crankcase. tom

That sounds exactly what's going on. My needle goes down through the hole and a white plastic knob sits on top of it then a spring and I was wondering was something missing because a spring is the only thing really holding it down.

What should I do about the petcock missing because I thought you could replace it with a shut-off valve to turn off and on so didn't think just running straight could harm anything.

But I thought you could replace the petcock with a shut off valve which would just turn off and on so I didn't think running it straight would do anything wrong?

Having gravity style fuel flow without having a shutoff/petcock. Will eventually leak past float needle allowing gas into air cleaner & crankcase. While sitting for periods of time., use of a inline manual shutoff (or reinstall petcock) is a good idea.
