Hi. Just wanted to know from anyone out there. Does all 50cc 2 stroke scooter need to be warmed up for like 5-10 mins from cold start? It's just that if i use mine straight away first start in the morning without warming up, it bogs and i don't know if that's normal. But it will be fine after a few meters running it.

That could be an enrichment problem or sign that it's running a bit on the lean side, but it's not that abnormal. It's not a bad idea to let a scoot warm up for a minute anyway, especially if it's very cold. You may want to try warming it up and then adjust your idle mixture and speed to see if it likes more fuel. All of mine like a larger main jet when the weather starts getting cold.

I also changed the auto choke to rule it out if it is faulty but it didn't fix that bog when i use it straight away from cold. I wonder if it is time for me to upgrade into a bigger carb like 19mm if tuning the air mixture screw won't fix it? My scooter has a 70cc stage6 kit by the way.

Does it have excessive smoke at that first drive? If your still using the injection pump it may be leaking extra oil into the engine when not running and it takes a moment to burn it off. It’s always a good idea to let the engine to idle for a few minutes before you drive off.

Also if it has an vacuum operated petcock, it might just need a second to fill the float bowl. If I don’t ride my blue aero for a day. It’ll do that if I don’t let it sit idling a minute. If not it’s only a throttle twist or 2 before bowl is full and scooter starts acting normal.
