I did a real quick check with a measuring tape on a 70cc and 103cc that I have on the shelf and that 9/16" difference is about what it was.

Thanks for all the info. Not sure what im going to do. The motor i found they want $300 and if your saying 120psi could be low it might be another $100 for a cylinder kit..If i went buying a case for $125 to $150 i would have to dump alot into it but atleast it would be new inside. I know these motors are getting hard to find and this is why they want money for them. I still need to see how bad my engine is. I get the 90cc will rev low and keep 60mph all day but my scooter isn't meant to ride down the hwy.I still would love the 90cc but is it worth it? I'll figure it out in a few weeks unless i come across a really cheap 90cc

I enjoy the 90s, but the right 70cc can do what any of mine do and more.

I think the budget 90cc builds make the ultimate daily driver. Cost effective to build and lower revving means everything just gets less stress overall. 2strokd once described the stock 90cc atv motors as "mild" and that's exactly what I experienced with my stock 90. Skimming the stock head to tighten up squish and advancing the timing a bit seemed like the main things that really brought mine alive. There's lots of little tricks you can do to a stock cylinder to bring it back to life for free like hand honing with sandpaper and adjusting squish/compression etc. I've started with less than 120psi and upped the compression on lots of scoots for free using these little tricks... anywho- 90's are awesome but exactly like 90GTVert mentioned- a 70cc can be just as fun- just depends on which of bazillion rabbit holes you decide to dive into lol.

Its not a question of which motor is better. Its the old saying. Its about the money. $300 for the 90cc of ebay not really knowing the condition is a gamble. For $100 sure you take a chance. Right now i can get the bike back running somewhat cheap sticking to the 70cc. The 90cc would be nice but if i need a long run i will just ride my 1978 Honda CB400A i just bought. Its great to ride but theirs something about riding a scooter i really like.

It does appear to be a long case, I could not find the other half in his listings. I would definitely get both half's from the same source if possible, gearbox half too. Sometimes they do not match up well if you don't.
