whats up guys. been meaning to post about this but keep getting side tracked with other vehicle problems. but i have been taking my scoot around the block and the sound has been there for a while but seems to go away. but i figured this winter ill do a cvt overhaul. but when im taking off from a stop or low low speed my cvt screeches till about 3 maybe 5 mph. what could that be?

Assuming that your engine is a 1E40QMB, I am going to guess that it might be the bearing that supports the rear input shaft in the cvt cover.

It could be one of the driven pulley bearings. They only spin at below clutch engagement speeds like the rpm's mentioned.

You can spin the bearings or use your finger to rotate them and feel if they're gritty and listen for noise. Check the cover bearing and both bearings in the rear pulley. If you need to replace the bearings in the rear pulley : www.youtube.com/watch?v=2f-7Q_0GRAICover bearing can be removed with a blind hole bearing puller. The easiest way to deal with it though, is to drill a hole that aligns with the center of the bearing (hint : drill through from the inside while the old junk bearing is in there for proper alignment). Then you can drill a little larger to make it easy to catch an edge or just work at an angle like you're driving out wheel bearings. Use a punch and drive the bearing out. Heat the cover, cool the bearing, and drive the bearing in if needed. Just be careful to only drive the bearing in from the outer edges or using a bearing and seal driver. Don't drive it in by putting force on the center.

most times when i take my cvt cover off the bearing stays of the pin or shaft so i always have to pop it back in. but couldn't find one online to replace.
