Sweet, running like a champ now. It’s not all good. I looked deeper into the cvt, at some parts catalogs from back when the scooter was new, and discovered that the previous owner had no idea what he was doing... the cvt has the wrong fan, wrong nut, and the parts it should have are low here to be seen. The spring, kickstart gears (might be the extra gear the seller included), bracket that screws into the fan to hold the spring down compressed, kickstart lever, gasket, and multiple screws for the cvt cover are all missing. As bad as it sounds, all in, online, all of these missing parts total at only about $125-$150 (I veered toward one site, tgbparts.co.uk, which had most of them, minus an odd washer), for the correct face, fan, springs, guides for the roller cover, new rollers, kickstart gears, new screws, washers, and the bracket to hold it all down. I’m planning to buy it all soon. Currently, it’s the variator, a corroded incorrect fan , and then a nut that doesn’t thread far enough to hold it all in place haha. Here is the place I found the diagrams: www.peirspeed.com/Cobrasales/parts/tgb/TGB%20R50X%20Parts%20Manual.htmYou have to be careful with parts, not all morini engine parts are swappable. Some crankshafts might have a r/h thread on the cvt side where most are l/h.(reverse) Going with OEM parts is the best bet.

I searched the OEM part number up and found (as far as I know) the most reliable place to buy each one... the tgbparts.co.uk seemed to check all the boxes for most of the parts, unless they just didn’t stock them, so I’m pretty sure it’ll be close to OEM, either way, it’ll be better than it is now... also on the signature matter, OMG lol, I need to get more sleep, thanks.

I’ve done some looking, and the fan the scooter came with when I got it is completely wrong. It’s a fan off a Vespa Aprilia, Vespa OEM part number AP2MEA000091... So I have the Correct tgb starter clutch, followed by the correct variator, followed by the correct belt, followed by the correct face (but only the smooth part), followed by the incorrect Vespa fan, and lastly a random nut from true value that doesn’t thread down far enough to hold it all tight. Here’s what the fan I have looks like: Any recommendations on where to go from here?

Looks like your kicker probably doesn't work with that setup.
The stack of parts on that shaft should absolutely be tight with no wiggling (except for the variator face), so you might have to add a washer or several behind that nut, or a steel spacer if its a lot. If its not all tight it would definitely sound like loose change banging around in the cvt.
Does the fan meet up with the splines on the shaft correctly?
As long as the clearances are good (no rubbing) It should be OK.
