I thought so but on the slim chance it was still sitting on your shelf, I wanted it! lol I think I found a couple places that still have them sitting on a shelf. im really on the fence between the polini and the mallosi cylinders. I wish I was rich! id buy 2 of all the options. I have enough motors to try them all and its always good to have a back up.... im leaning towards the pollini just because its been out of production longer. like 2-4 years maybe ill ask santa mom for the polini for xmas and the girlfriend for the malossi for my bday in march. ill pick up the aluminum gilardoni my self in between. I already purchased a pollini lead 50 bbk from parts for scooters on black Friday. plan on getting crazy with some jb weld and a Dremel on one of my AB07's and port match them, because that cylinder wont seal on an af05 or an ab07 unless you get creative. also bought a 61mm kit for my 150 gy6/ nc50 express creature. so many great ideas no time to build them. need to clear up my 8to5 customer jobs first... responsibility is a heavy responsibility, man! lol

ui was just about to order a polini kit when I found a guy in Italy with 10 new malossi cylinders. just cylinders though. well I emailed him and asked if he would take $50 usd shipped. he said yes! lol im thinking of buying 1 or 3 cylinders now, where could I find a replacement piston for this kit? want to add up prices and see if this is a better deal. not as worried about gaskets as I am the piston and rings. wheres the best price on pistons? thanks
good call 190!
dimensions are 47mm bore, 10mm pin, 25mm from top edge of piston to center of wrist pin. overall length is 47-48mm

thought id update this. since I started looking for AF05 big bore kits, searching honda vision instead of aero has paid off. I purchased a metrakit big bore kit from Italy. its in the mail cant wait to get this kit too. good thing I have 4 AF05e engines in my various scooters. lol I think my goal is gonna be to get one of each kit. so far I have an italkit, a malossi, and a metrakit. I have found a few polini kits. talking with sellers about prices and shipping, since all are in Europe. and im still looking at arisal kits trying to find the best price I can. once they are all here and installed, I think I'll post back on each kits performance and quality. I also purchased a digital dual info gauge for cylinder head temp and rpm. has max #'s and current #'s settings as well as settable warning alarms for both. been meaning to get these gauges for a while. purchased it for $38 shipped

question for anyone that might know, did polini make a cast iron cylinder and an aluminum cylinder big bore kit? I think I might have found an aluminum kit but, I have never heard anyone speak of it. and I cant find info about it searching the web. thanks

Didn't buy it but i knew it was kinda rare so took these two screenshots from the ad...might come in handy some day.

Dunno, but im fairly sure theres no 2nd alu polini kit besides this one. I only know of the airsal, gilardoni and this polini as the only alu cylinders. Never heard, seen or got hinted about a real racing cylinder for the af05 motor.

Polini cylinders come from the exact same foundry. If you look close you'll see EVG cast in that polini cylinder. Thats the EVG Gilardoni plant. Polini also has the W shaped exhaust ports, for example in the Polini Evo 2 for minarelli and peugeot fox. I think you had one from a bad batch maybe?

Lucas, are you saying the polini and italkit were both cast at the gilardoni foundry? is the italkit the same as the gilardoni cylinder? ive heard of the gilardoni cylinder but ive never seen one. the italkit cylinder casting was nice, it was the nikasil flaking that was a problem. maybe it was a bad batch? id like to get another one someday but how would I go about finding a good batch? how big is a batch? only place ive seen that cylinder for sale was 77 mopeds. and their customer service sucks. good luck getting any help or info from them.... I still have the cylinder because im a hoarder, had hopes of getting it renikasiled but it would cost more than I paid for the kit. so on the shelf it sits... good info lucas!!! thank you. I think im gonna get 1 of these aluminum polini kits. seller said he'd sell and ship it for $120 EUR = $137 USD a side note: ive found AB07 and AF05e Athena and mallossi crankshafts in Italy. I messaged the sellers to see whats available. stock or race. ill report back when I get more info.

Lucas, are you saying the polini and italkit were both cast at the gilardoni foundry? Correct! Just for fun, compare pics of the alu italkit cylinders and Polini Evo 1,2 and 3 cylinders. Take a look at the shape of the transfers, overall shape of the cylinder and the EVG stamps. BTW Rotax has their barrels made by Gilardoni too!Is the italkit the same as the gilardoni cylinder? ive heard of the gilardoni cylinder but ive never seen one. Yes, but Gilardoni is also a brand name in itself for aftermarket cylinders. For example, the Gilardoni 74cc for Puch M50/Monza/Maxi just goes by the name 'Gilardoni' and theres no Italkit involved. Good info Lucas!!! thank you. You're welcome I think im gonna get 1 of these aluminum polini kits. seller said he'd sell and ship it for $120 EUR = $137 USD €120 shipping seems reasonable. Here in Holland its about €35 for shipping parcels up to 5KG. Germany will have similar prices.
Edit: Ships from France
To get back to one of your earlier questions. That alu Polini will probably be a slightly quicker, lighter, more durable, modern and more rev happy version of that old cast iron one.
a side note: ive found AB07 and AF05e Athena and mallossi crankshafts in Italy. I messaged the sellers to see whats available. stock or race. ill report back when I get more info. High quality pieces im sure!
