so im currently running the aluminum Italkit bbk purchased at 1977 mopeds. im about over it and im trying to decide between the airisal kit and the mallosi kit. the chrome is flaking off the cylinder on the italkit and im really not a fan of the W shaped exhaust port. yoyu really need to clean back the edges of it. when it heats up, it really likes to rub the rings and piston in a bad way.
has anyone ran both the mallosi and airisal kits? which one did you like better? or if you've ran either kit, likes and dislikes? Or if you know of a better option im all ears.
also, if anyone knows where I could still find a performance crankshaft like a jasil or ? please let me know. I like how there are shops with products still on their site that have been out of stock/ production for 2 years. its like making a fat kid stare at a big slab of cake and telling them they cant have it. and I love me some cake!!!!! lol enjoy the ride!

I've ran an airsal bbk and a polini bbk on these motors. I liked the airsal, but the polini cast iron lasted forever.

I was wondering about the polini also. but I cant find it anywhere. im guessing its like the performance crankshafts. out of production.. I was leaning towards the mallosi because its cast iron also. after my issues with this aluminum Italkit, im leery of another aluminum kit

The polini has been out of production for a long time, but it's not too hard finding n.o.s. items in Europe in the back of some old shop. I'll have to find the part number...

thanks Lucas. I actually found one last night surfing the web. for $140ish shipped! also found a garlidini? (that's not the correct spelling). but it looks aluminum. but it looks like a bunch of ports in it. But the last time I went with a fancy port work I ended up with that flakey Italkit. so im pulling the trigger this week. polini or malosi??? which would y'all get. which is faster, better, stronger?

Polini 119.0034 i think.
Supposedly the malossi is higher RPM power band, but just by a little. Also, malossi has a viton seal head too (available separately). Raises compression and gives it a squish band.

They moved there from holland about 10yrs ago. Been around at least 20yrs. Real wide and big parts supply and are official jolly moto and jim lomas supplier. And you probably meant Gilardoni...thats practically italkit. Gilardoni italkit are kinda 1 brand. Gilardoni is a cylinder foundry, they also produce the Polini evo cylinders. Gilardoni produce real high quality cylinders.
