So I purchased a racer 50 Friday. It has a 90cc big bore kit on it. Every time I hit 20mph it starts to act like it is flooding and starts to die. Anyone know what could cause this? My guess is the auto enricher but I want other people’s opinions before I go buying parts.

Auto enricher can make your mixture richer but it can not flood the engine, check for vacuum leaks and diaphragm, my guess is that you may even have faulty vacuum pump they can flood the engine

Do you think some trash got in the carb and it’s messing things up?

Try taking the bowl down and clean the carb with compressed air or carb cleaner, check the diaphragm too, without the fuel filter crap from the bottom of the tank can end up in the carb, I have 2 fuel filters on my scoot cant be safe enough lol
When I buy a used scoot I always install a brand new carb, because some of the junk that ends up in them can never be cleaned out properly
After that I know that the carb is 100% in working order and I make sure that I start every one of my scoots now and then, it is a bad idea to let the fuel in the system to sit for months
And finally I always prefer to disable auto enricher... when tuning the carb they always seemed to interfere even after they are warm, and it is one thing less to worry about breaking down and messing up the mixture... this is what I do on my scoots along with other mods
Note: disabling auto enricher does NOT mean to just unplug it!

You will need to take it off the carb, unscrew it( yes it can be unscrewed) and than take out the wires, I improvized from the internal components and used the original spring to make my enricher plunger extended at all times and then I screwed it back together as tight as I could and installed it back on the carb
Just screwing it in may work too but I havent tried that so I cant tell for sure...
It may be difficult to explain it this way, but I dont have any pictures that I can show you
There are other metods such as just jb weld the place where enricher was... but in my opinion this is not a good idea because there are so many variants of basicaly the same carb if you do that it can mess up your idle circurit because on some carbs it is conected through the enricher
With making the original enricher extended the whole time, you are 100% safe that it wont interfere with idle circurit or somerhing else
From now on I am doing this on every scoot that has a 139qmb in it, the result is rock solid idle without fluctuation dying out at stops etc, you just need to disabe it, adjust your idle mixture and that is it, the ONLY downside that I expreience from this is that I have to crank it for 2-3 seconds on the first cold start in really cold weather
