That's normal, its the starter clutch making the noise.

Here's another concern
1. Grinding noise on shutoff when i was adjusting idle i turned idle screw too tight and engine slowly died like RPM go below 500 and then stopped and i heard some grinding noise.
2. other time my idle was adjusted too low and when i started cold rpm was bit low so slightly revved the engine for a quick second followed by dropping of the center stand and backing up and i also heard some grinding noise. Could this be because my rear rear wheel was in the air and started turning and because of high rpm then i dropped it down and it suddenly locked while clutch was still engaged?

As gsx600racer said, the starter clutch is a one way sprag,if you reverse rotation(even momentarily),the sprag will engage the starter gear train...thus the grinding sound,,Got it?

The starter clutch could be dirty. But be warned, there are springs and rollers that can fall out when you remove it and clean it.. Remember to talk softly, it can hear every word you say. Who knows who is listening.
