ok, over the past month, i've learned a lot more about the specs on this scooter. it is in fact a 139qmb 50cc 4 stroke engine, slapped onto a 2 stroke scooter (probably the previous owner did some damage to the oem motor, and frankensteined the 4 stroke in to replace it. considering the scooter odometer has 1100 "original" miles, i would assume the 4 stroke has very low miles, especially if the odometer is showing miles from both the original 2 stroke AND the 4 stroke. anyway, enough said. there are some issues i'm having, but seeing as i've basically solved this scooters mystery at this point, i'll start a new thread for what i'll still need to fix in the troubleshooting section (hint: the word "scorched" comes to mind ).

I’d be very upset if it were me thinking I bought a 2-stroke and come to find out it’s a 4. Did this concern you enough to call the seller back or are you happy with the 4-stroke?
One thing good about it is won’t have to add oil to the oil tank every 5 tank fulls of gas, probably why the engine was swapped in the first place which sounds about right 1100 miles the previous owner never put oil in, but this is all a guess. The only 4-stroke scooter I’ve owned was a 2008 Tomos (SYM) Nitro and regret selling it because it never let me down, never any tuning issues and the gas Milage blew any 2-stroke out of the water. I’m new here too and have an 07 Eurostrada, the people on this site seem much more knowledgeable than others so I’m sure they’ll be able to help you in any other issues that arise.
