Hi again.
Im about to put my engine back together after replacing the crankshaft.
I have bought the engine gasket..
Would you guys use, some sort of extra sealent on the engine cases, a long with the factory gasket?
Of cause it would be a very very thin layer, I would use.
Or what do you do, when you assemble your engines?
The engine: 139qmb
Cheers Mag.

I usually put a thin coating of Permatex Ultra Grey or Ultra Black on the case gaskets.

Okay, so a thin coat of rtv on both engine cases, with the factory gasket in between would be okay?

I just coat the gasket, because that's way easier to me. I wear gloves and put a little on my finger and thumb and rub it "into" the gasket so it's thin. Continue till the whole gasket is coated. Copper spray may work. Never tried it. On paper, it sounds like it can work. I've mostly used it on metal head gaskets or without a head gasket at all on 2Ts.
