I am new to these carbs so not sure if my main, air corrector, mixer tube and idle jet combo ok Lml 125 /Stella with 150 top end on and just fitted a SIP road 2 in place of the bean tin looking affair I have done a full throttle run and checked plug pics below. I understand you have to do a run in the lower rev range to make sure the right idle jet is fitted but confused as to how. Running
Included is a video of tick over and light reving if that helps for info on idle jet
Bpr6es plug Air corrector 140 Mixer tube b3 Main jet 100 Idle jet I think is 55/160 Air filter is not drilled New barrel and piston done about 150 miles Many thanks in advance

Tune first, check plug later. Keep fiddeling with jets and needle positions until you feel it runs right at every throttle position and/or load. THEN check plug by doing plug chops and cut off threads.
Your plug looks lean, but thats not nessecarily a bad thing. And i can't really read this plug because i cant look down at the base of the isolator.

My guess is lean to just right. Go 1 larger and see how it feels and looks. If air temp was cold, your jet will need to be 1 larger when it's hot. I've always felt that idle and low throttle settings are better set by feel and sound than plug readings. Plug readings are better for steady cruise and full throttle. Full first for mainjet, then needle clip for cruise if necessary. Your putting the plug next to a color and bare metal is a great idea for color comparison!

OOPS! I think I blew it on larger jet in hot weather. Hotter air = less air density = richer mixture. Sorry 'bout that Chief.

Just checked idle jet and it's a 40/130 and I increased the main to a 102 starting to look better. Could not find my jets earlier. What do you think re the plug colour now?
