I have a 2002 bws 50 with a 70 cc bbk and a foam filter with a yasuni z exhaust. When I ride when the engine is cold it runs perfect. After it warms up(about 1/2 km) when I get past 55kmh you can hear the engine sputtering. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

I haven’t jetted, it has an 80 main. A while back the moped would idle but would rev so I took the throttle off and the e clip came off so I think it is in the wrong slot. There’s still 2 more slots on the pin to richen it so I’ll try that. Keep the updates on this thread?

I,m no bbk expert but you need to read up,get a rev counter and temp gauge or you risk destroying the engine and yes post in this thread, the scoot gods help those etc,.

I’m going to try moving the throttle clip down one to see if I can get a bit more fuel out of it. And also when the engine is warm it looses a bit of power. Does all these reasons sound like a lack of fuel issue?
Thanks

OK it,s on you, your plug looks to show a lean condition altering the clip just won,t be enough, you have increased the engine size but not the amount of gas, disaster looms, read the tec sect.

Check the fuel lines and fuel filter. if insufficient amount of fuel gets into the float bowl that might decrease the power. I'm not sure what you mean by "sputtering". Is it four-stroking or etc. Could you describe the sound more specifically?
Maybe the mixture is too rich, have you thought of that? Did it get better after you had more fuel getting into the cylinder? Have you tried running it with the choke on? If it runs better with choke on that definitely means you need a richer mixture.
I'll touch upon engine loosing power when warm later on
We'll be waiting for you to report back.

A few weeks ago, I had the same setup and it was running fine. My next thought was just what you said, it might be clogged up somewhere in the tank or the fuel line I will check those tonight and post if it’s fixed
Thanks

Last Wednesday the pressure line that pushes fuel out of the tank came off. The line might have some dirt in it so no pressure will be getting pushed through. The sputtering is like a struggle to rev out. When it’s held full throttle it cuts in and out like the kill switch is getting turned on and off, just like the sound it made when the pressure line came off.

Running the foam filter without airbox will surely cause a lean running condition on the STOCK carb. I’m running a foam filter on my 70 but it has a 19 carb. I was worried about it running lean before running it, but after break-in and longer travel distance plug check/chops revealed otherwise. I’ve tried running a foam filter on stock carb/jetting 50cc and 70cc, I can attest that you’ll find it losing more power because over heating, cut-off at high rpm on WOT and evidence of lighter color almost chalky looking plugs. Other members suggested an up jet which is great, I’ve found a larger carb with your bbk will probably be pretty close right off the bat, especially if you like running a foam filter like myself.
