Hello ! My totally stock vip 50 revs to 9000 rpm and at cruising speed of just under 40mph. I am going to get a carb and richen it up;If I do that and a couple other mods will my variator still need the rollers I have now or will I need to change roller weights?

You probably won't need to change weights for a carb/tune unless the old one was off by quite a bit.

Its never a bad thing to tune up your stock vari/cvt setup. A simple retuning there, rejetting the carb, and your stocker will rocker

9000 RPM seems a bit excessive, 7500 or 8000 would be a better top RPM to keep within the power band. For that reason a CVT tune may be in order.

CORRECTION;The highest rpm is 8000 rpm not 9000 rpm.So I guess I'm not so clever............

Enriching the mixture is not guaranteed to add rpms or acceleration. If you go too rich, it will cause loss of power and buildup of carbon internally. Too lean, and you run the risk of overheating and piston damage. IOW, be careful. tom

I was trying to get an idea of what would happen if I go richer. Yes Ill be careful.I thought it was interesting since the vari is dialed in so good right now.
