Does anyone else have an aero 50 and notice that the gas seems to go down pretty fast? I don't feel like its that efficient for some reason. Also...do I need to do an oil change or any other maintenance. It was given to me but it really a piece of shite. I've had to replace so many components to get it running.

My original engine is very similar, many shared parts...assuming you have an older AF05E.
Regardless, if you are getting poor economy, there are many checks you can do. I like simple and easy, it saves spending dumb money.
Check your crankcase oil. Drain it into something that you can see into. Engines do not like petrol in the crankcase. It can come from leaving the fuel petcock open, or if vacuum operated, it is faulty or eroded. Cheap fix. Repair or replace.
Next, there are many maintenance checks: *Premix or oil injection too high or wrong oil *Ignition issues (timing, plug, coil, wire, pickup) *Exhaust full of oil goo *Old fuel *Check compression (may need new rings/piston/cylinder hone)
If it runs, but poorly, check everything you can without spending much money. My way of thinking is to change only what you find bad, initially, since the scoot is new to you. Freshen up what you can, learn what your specific tuning settings are, then move forward. Fix only what you KNOW is not correct. It is easy to chase your tail and get nowhere.
There are many years of experience here. Start with some condition discovery, let us know what you find and we will get you pointed straight, if we can. A general tune up and internal pipe cleaning often unleash a beast. Diamond in the rough.

A dirty air filter and under inflated tires can both lead to poor fuel economy.

Jetted wrong would be the first thing i would check. Take a look at the plug, it probably is black as coffee. It should have cardboard color.
And then replace the air filter and overinflate the tires (somewhere between 40-45 psi).
