Aquired a af16 Honda elite s from my man pink,been scoring the internet and also in contact with phongeer,wanna go with a wheelie monster and top speed,was wondering what I'd get out of a 54mm phongeer cylinder and stroker crank and a phongeer pipe and of course a new carb new gearing and possible new vari and rear pulley probably the zx trans swap any help or info would be great thanks

There's a guy on YouTube named DioSpeedDemon www.youtube.com/user/DIOSpeedDemon .Still recently active and I think he's out of Washington. Firm believer in VTcycles himself. Tons of progress videos. Couple drag time videos. Gonna invite him here threw his channel. Maybe he'll join. Anyway just for some ideas... |

Ive got one on the bench now,from what I see a 54mm jug would leave very little meat for the cyl studs to screw into.The cylinder selection is limited,bigger stroke cranks leave a thin case too..oldgeek has a 52? stroke crank and 50 bore on his Kymco project,good reading there...

I can get a 52.4 stroke crank I'm torn I wish they made a 52mm cylinder for Dio I've yet to find one,I want to go for an ac build I don't wanna mess with plumbing an l.c cylinder even though I got a rad already and a Bosch water pump,just talked to the phongeer guy he was gonna get me shipping price for the reverse p.g style pipe I'll post a pick of it in a second,they also have a stainless steel model  |

My experience with my elite... Polini cast (corsa??)70, 9:1 gears, Polini variator, Zx pulley, arrow pipe and 28mm carb. Wheelies were still very easy almost too easy and top speed was 65-68. It was a very nice reliable build. I used the stock crank and was running around 10.5-10.8K. If I come across another elite I’d do the same build.

I seen they have 56mm cylinder how the heck does that even work with trimming the case and fitment

Even at 52mm OG had to cut into the case studs. Checkout his thread to see what he had to go through to mount up that cylinder.

IMO ryan_ott has the right idea for a setup like you are looking for. You can tweak it a bit and have a reliable bolt on build, no having to cut the cases out. Stock honda or Kymco cranks are solid. Make sure to check out scootertuning.ca for the elite stuff. they also have house brand stuff that may be good for the price. EDIT: I took out some incorrect information. I am confused as usual, and it is getting worse by the day. |

You can also search hondaspree.net for a member whose name is arnadanoob. He posted some very insightful threads regarding big bore vs. Mini stroker vs. Full stroker. I think he was/is from Hawaii too. He talks about the pros and cons of ministroker and full stroker set ups. Interesting stuff. A lot of the Hawaii stroker guys talk about high temps in regards to full strokers.

The are some postings on Craigslist Hawaii (Oahu) for 52.5mm and 54mm LC Taida bore kits. There is also postings for 52.4mm full metal stroker crank in which the counterweight is said to be as small as a 50mm crank, so less case cutting. There are listings for Scorpion pipes from Scooter Alley in 70cc, 100cc, and 125cc and a listing for "big nut stroker" for $450. Scooter Alley is a shop in Honolulu that distributes the Scorpion pipes and the "Sparrow" (chamber pipe copy of the Arrow) and the pipes are made in the Philippines. Guys like the Scorpion for high speed but they say the Sparrow has better all around performance.
I know Phongeer makes a fat stroker pipe too. The PG pipe pic that you posted (PG long) is common on a lot of modded Elites here on Oahu. I have seen pics of PG longs being modified here on Oahu. They cut the back can open, do some sort of unmentioned modification, and weld it back up.
From what I've read, the good tuners in Hawaii swear by the stock crank (Honda) or the Malossi full circle + polini corsa + and the PG long. And gearing to suit either wheelie machine or speed.
I explored the idea of building a "dio" type engine when I saw a shop selling virgin SYM dd50 cases for $200. Also seeing the CL listings for Taida 52.5/54 LC bores and the 52.4 stroker crank made me think about building a SYM block with 52.4mm crank and a Taida 52mm LC kit to go with the "square bore" concept for longevity. And use a Scorpion stroker pipe. Typical Oahu set up for intake: CT manifold, OKO 28mm carb, velocity stack. And the usual Oahu CVT: KELI high speed variator with the S trans ( just realized its probably the Zx trans) rear pulley.
I wanted to build that set up and put that engine in a new Chinese 4 stroke body/frame to make a sleeper but child support skyrocketed so that dream is deferred.

Checked my old texts. Texted the seller a while ago I got $260 52.5mm bore and $145 52.4mm crank. $405 for a stroker LC was reasonable for me, especially here on Oahu with the simplicity of it being on Craigslist. Plus access the stroker Scorpion ($415) and SYM block, I was looking at a base project starting at $1015. Plus $154 for the CT intake, 28 OKO, and KELI variator off Craigslist too, $1170 seemed like not a bad start to me for a 113cc square bore LC stroker.
But then there's the $220 Malossi crank, $40 Honda bearings, $240 Corsa, $350 Arrow or $325 Scorpion, the $154 CT KELI OKO combo, and SYM block ($200) for around $1205 for a 72cc air cooled screamer. Local CL parts.
Both set ups 113cc or 72cc would be around $1200 starting for me. Not bad considering how much I've spent on JOG parts over the years.
