The bore should slide on with very little resistance. Coat the piston and bore with 2 stroke oil during initial assembly so it has some lube during its first start attempt.

I will do just that... Thanks guys for helping with awesome advice and knowledge. I’m trying to do my research as well so I’m not just asking without trying 😎

If you forced it on most likely damaged the rings, piston or the cylinder skirt in the process.
Usually you crack the cylinder skirt or break the end off the rings.

Damn, I really Hope not... A new piston with rings, G clips ect. is only 29.99 plus tax so hopefully that’s all it is and no major scoring inside cylinder wall

Did you pull the cylinder off and inspect?

Ryan I have been working some crazy hours but Saturday I’m off and going to devote the day to getting it resolved. Thanks for asking and I’m hoping no major damage 😎

Also have few bench fittings before you try for real, pay special attention to piston pin clips I got it wrong twice Geoff

Also have few bench fittings before you try for real, pay special attention to piston pin clips I got it wrong twice Geoff I heard of someone recently fitting normal type circlips, instead of those supplied with the kit. Not realising that they fit one way. Fit the rounded side out, with disastrous consequences. So don't feel so bad murf740 many people make mistakes. You are not alone.

Can I ask and additional question? What is the "actual" piston size? Ring sizes (compressed) Cylinder bore run out? (ID at TDC of upper compression ring, 75% stroke, 50% stroke, BDC)
Yes, you may have a bad install, but you need to know why, or your history could repeat. Example: I never buy piston/rings sets for the simple reason of quality control. Variation can be spot on or total shite. I buy in person, when practical, or buy lots of 10 or more...10 pistons, 10 rings sets, 10 pins.
In today's world that quality control is near impossible, but very important. I have learned from living abroad. If I cannot measure, I don't buy.
Just another note: I am a Mechanical Engineer, but not a machinist or professional welder. I am a hobbyest at both, with high standards, because the results are mine. Therefore, I machine what I am able and TIG to my limits. I find my own quality better than many, many pro shops. Check, spec, check the spec, find a qualified and responsible supplier.

youtu.be/LGBrriizLP4 So this was today’s aftermath of getting lodged piston out of cylinder sleeve... FYI, I had rings on upside down 🥴

I would start off with a fresh kit. You’ve got metal deformed into the cylinder bore there. Did you try to pound that on with a hammer? Read up on the BBK install videos here so this doesn’t happen again. Give yourself plenty of time and don’t rush through it.

I have to agree with Ryan, I would start fresh with a new kit now that you have some experience and help. It looks like you used the hammer, hope the rod and bearings are ok.

Hey guys, yeah I used the hammer and didn’t think beforehand... luckily the connecting rod was still intact and undamaged. I was thinking a new kit too and I have done a lot more reading up and watching videos that now it all makes sense. Hard lesson to learn when I get to antsy and do stupid stuff but it’s a learning curve that won’t happen twice. Lol thanks for all the support and great advice 👍😎
