Ok guys and gals... I just installed a SSP-G 70cc bbk and now it’s like the kickstarter is locked. I double checked it and it’s properly installed with the motion it’s supposed to have. We took the top part of head off and noticed on bottom part of head that it’s an inch to inch and a half from being flush with engine case when at top dead center. The rod makes a full turn like normal but piston doesn’t move inside cylinder sleeve and cannot tap it any further down to be flush with engine case. I’m baffled and any advice would be appreciated. Mike

I have read your first post thirteen times now but I don't quite understand what the problem is. So a video would be excellent.

Basically when I did the install, took piston and compressed rings with 2t oil on and tried to slide into cylinder sleeve ... was REALLY tight fit but figured it was supposed to be. It wouldn’t slide all the way on so we put top of head on and tightened bolts down to pull head closer to engine case. Thought it was at TDC but obviously was wrong and now I can spin flywheel to get a full rotation but head is not flush with engine case and piston seems stuck in sleeve and doesn’t move.

When I get home from church I’ll take a short video with my iPhone and try to put it here. Thanks Mike

I don’t think you compressed the rings at the locator pins when installing the cylinder and everything is now jammed up. I’d pull the cylinder back off and inspect the rings to make sure you didn’t break them.

You might have turned piston backwards with pistonring ends facing against exhaust port an they have therfore got snug/stuck in exhaust port.

Thanks Ryan, if by chance I got it wrong and not on the locator pins then that would explain why it was hecka hard to slide on... just guessing but I will definitely take off and retry then it should relatively slide on easy right?

Can you take the clip out. Then remove the gudgeon pin? This would allow you to remove the bore and piston together. You could get a better understanding of what's going on. Though it looks like you have wedged the rings in. You need to check the rings and bore for damage. Anytime you have to force it together something is wrong
