When I turn the throttle my scooter will hesitate but just for a second. Any ideas what's causing it? It just started doing it today.

Would start with cleaning out the carburetor. Give it a good rinse and blow through jets and circuits with compressed/high pressure air.

If you have an accelerator pump in the carburetor, I'd check that it is being operated by the throttle plate linkage. The linkage would have a 'flat lever' that is moved when the throttle is first opened. It would push on the accelerator pump shaft(rearward and down from the linkage) and cause a splurt of fuel to be sprayed into the intake(incoming air) side of the carburetor. If you don't get action when the throttle is moved, you may bend the flat arm to get it to start pushing when the throttle is first opened. tom
