First, clamp off the fuel and vacuum lines to the gas tank. Probably junk stuck in the float valve in the carb. Worked on scoots before?

Remove the carb leaving the cable on it. Remove the float bowl screws - if no place for screwdriver, welcome to scoot world. There have been a few posts on how to remove them. When finally removed, gently smack the float bowl with the handle of the screwdriver to break loose the gasket. See if there is junk in the bottom and set aside to hold the: float pin, float, and the float valve. Let a shot of gas flow out to flush the line. Reassemble.

Check your float level. It's possible the needle (float bowl) is not seating. On some carbs there is an overflow tube that allows excess fuel, if flooding, to exit. The excess fuel is being back drafted,

The one scoot that dumped fuel out of the air cleaner housing had a stuck float valve. The overflow elbow is higher up than the bottom of the venturi, and fuel level in the bowl rose and must have come out around the main jet, dribbled towards the intake tube and air cleaner, and finally dropped onto the ground. I just had to clean things up and it worked again and quit peeing gasoline. tom
