I’d pick up some different needles also. Part throttle is what kills many 2 strokes.

I did think about the needles though. find a kit with increments of 5, i.e. 140, 135, 130, etc. 110 is probably lean on mj I bet, and I bet 42 is rich on pj. I'm currently using a jjh needle with a similar carb.

Why not go to your local dirtbike dealership and buy 140, 130 and 120 and see which one works best. Then buy another three jets and do the same. And repeat that cycle again. You should be able to get the jetting right that way within 10 jets. All the other ones you can give back or the unused ones traded in for other sizes.

I'll see what i can figure out as far as the dealership. Theres not many of them here. The carb was on my friends ruckus wideband tuned and he was using the 42pj. If i can get this thing started this weekend i will be VERY happy!

What carb do you have? A Ruckus is a 4t and you are posting in the 2T troubleshooting.

I have a 42 and a 110 in it now. or you can buy hobby micro drill set from a hobby store. they are # drill bits. they are so small that they are designated by a # (as opposed to a fraction or letter size drill bit.) you can take a jet (stock or smaller than the 110 jet you are using now) and progressively drill it out and test. each time you go up a drill size, install and test it. if you know that the 110 is too small right now, you can start drilling that jet. I bought a bunch of stock used jets from a local shop and used those jets for drilling/tuning. there are charts on the internet that correlates the # drill diameter to a jet size. use that information to buy the specific size jet.

What airfilter are you using? Open sponge type or stock airbox?

Ive tried that on another scoot but i just ordered a set of jets. I have a sponge filter but its not gonna fit so im gonna have to run a velocity stack with a screen.

Boot wont fit with it on carbs for 2t bikes and 4t bikes are not the same or interchangeable, including aftermarket pwk carbs. There are different parts Internally; either the carb was incorrect for the 4t ruckus and therefore incorrectly jetted, or the carb is incorrect for a 2t jog and will NEVER be correctly jetted. Also, stage6 pwk carbs are actually Koso carbs and are somewhat known to have leaks, i.e. base gasket or there gaskets.

I have a sponge filter but its not gonna fit so im gonna have to run a velocity stack with a screen. I would go ahead and spend $20 on a uni filter. Velocity stacks are actually meant to have a filter clammped onto the end, and a velocity stack with no filter will be VERY difficult to tune, especially the mid range and idle. You'll always be lean or rich, never stochiometric.
