Hey everyone,
I'm currently pulling apart some of my moped so I can clean the carburetor. Looks like I have access to the oil tank, air filter, and potentially a few other things. I'm going to look at draining the oil, and looking at the air filter.
What else should be looked at while I have it apart like this?
Thanks, K

I would only really drain the oil tank if you are not sure about the quality of oil. If you get an air lock you will have to bleed the whole system. I would check out all the pipes, fuel, oil and vacuum. Now is a good time to see what condition they are in.

Same with the gas, maybe I should drain that?

I would definitely drain the gas out. And give the carb a clean. The oil will be fine.

My float seems to angle pretty low. Here's an image (the image is of the float out but shows about how angled it was). imgur.com/a/nxo9MxxThere's also a picture of the needle. Is the needle the main thing keeping the float up (when upside down)?

The float will raise up pushing the needle. The rubber end forms a seal. So when it has filled to a certain level this will push it into the seat. Stopping fuel flow. This is now they usually sit with the jet fitted. 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/647?page=2#8400

Yeah that's what I've read/watched as well. If it isn't sitting properly, what could that be caused by? The needle?

Cleaned the carb, gas tank, and air filter. Got it back together and it doesn’t bog out!
Edit: Oh man it runs like a dream now.

Thanks for the help everyone. Time to look up what a CVT is, lol.
Edit: Was pretty sure it had to do with the transmission. Any idea on the complexity of this?

Just to service it is not too complex. The biggest mistake people make when first doing a CVT, is tightening the nuts up onto the belt. Make sure you pull the rear pulley together. You can then get lots of slack on the belt
