Going to be upgrading to a 70cc soon and looking for input or either of these two kits for my 1E40QMB. I need reliability and would like to be able to cruise 55-60mph.
Anyone have any experience with either?
Also, a rock solid crank to go along with it?

I'm new to interpreting port maps and understand them, but barely. How can I tell at what RPM power will be made? I understand that a larger exhaust port will be higher revving, but is there any info available as to what kind of power is made at certain RPM? I can't find anything...

After lots of tuning and tinkering I got 70 out of a Corsa, then blew it up.

The Corsa has a chrome top ring, ported exhaust port and a well prepped cylinder, contessa are just grey cast rings, and lower port timings and will require some prep of the ports. The Corsa really is a good cylinder for the money. Pricey but durable. Power depending on pipe is in the 8,500-10,500 maybe a tad more. Dynoscooter.com has the option to swap out the 10mm piston for a 12mm if that’s what you need. If it’s not in the drop down menu, ask.

I should be golden then. 55mph with proper tuning, shouldn't be too hard. All my scoots are genuine Jogs, so I would imagine I need whatever is more "standard," but I really have no idea... I'm going to check the manual, but any idea where else i could look without tearing the motor apart? That'rs right about where I want to be. Already have my CVT halfway tuned for this powerband anyway. Probably see how it runs with the Yasuni R and go from there.

According to the generic Jog manual I have from the interwebs, it would appear to be a 10mm pin...

You're asking to cruise at 55, that's a bit different than top speed. I was able to hit 70 tucked in tight on a cold night with lots of room to accelerate on a highway I shouldn't have been on. That same bike's comfortable cruising speed was probably around 50. It might not have thrown a wrist pin clip if I'd never swapped from the Next R, which I don't understand why folks hate, to the Stage6 pipe. it was still cruising nicely at 50 on the Tecnigas but gained a chunk more top end when I swapped.

How about this for a crank? www.scootertuning.ca/en/crankshafts-racing/2063-crankshaft-polini-for-race-10mm.htmlYou're asking to cruise at 55, that's a bit different than top speed. I guess I'll just have to take what she gives as always then.

I was running an Athena crank I think.... My failure was in a wristpin clip, so just chance time deal. High rpms made it worse, but short of regular tear downs I'm not sure how I could have prevented it.
