Which wire is better to add a tach off of. The CDI Trigger wire or the CDI coil wire? Is it more accurate to hard wire the tach VS wrapping the tach line around the spark plug lead type? Let me know.

I think it depends on the tach that is being install. I wrapped the wire on mine around the coil wire right behind the spark plug cap, then a wrap of electrical tape to hold it in place.
I think the CDI coil wire will give a better signal than the trigger wire.

I wrap it around the line going to the spark plug.

Some CDI have a tach signal wire.. My Kymco Super 8 has a light control box where the light gets dimmed if the engine is below a certain rpm so the battery doesn't run out when idling. This is done with with the tach signal coming from the CDI. kymco-super-wiring-diagram-super8-50The brown wire between the CDI and Light Control Box.

Follow the instructions for the tach that you are using.
