If you 'must' tune your CVT... Just remember that the tuner roller assortments wear rapidly (flatspot) so they should not be used to actually run with. Once you establish what weight of roller to use buy a good set of rollers with that weight and install them. I run DR sliders and are happy with them but I don't do much tuning. I just want longevity.
As a note, I have looked at all the variator designs and have decided they are built 'backwards' and are a very poor design. The ramp plate guide bushings are heavily loaded which results in the ramp plate chewing into the aluminum casting which causes sticking and poor performance. Once I get my hands working I will be able to wire up some of my machine tools and maybe build a proper variator. On the other hand, I may just eliminate the variator and go with more displacement (125cc is legal in Kansass) and run a straight centrifugal clutch and a chain drive geared to do 40-45MPH at max torque RPM and leave it at that. I just need enough speed not to get run over on Shawnee Mission Parkway which runs about 40MPH most of the time even though the speed limit is 45MPH.

If you are happy with rollers, there's a 'rule of thumb' for replacing rollers with sliders, and selecting the proper weight. I do not know the rule of thumb, but runs along the lines: "When replacing rollers with sliders, you can go roughly 2g higher in roller weight for the same performance." Or, maybe it is 2g lighter. I do not know. On a Honda Ruckus, we use the same weight sliders as rollers. At least, from TotalRuckus.com days that is what everyone assumed...

Ok. I see its not so cut and dry. I was hoping for a direct answer and was hoping for a name and part number and a simple swap . I was also hoping somebody had changed there taotao pony cluch and varator for the better insted of using the cheep one thats on it. Oh by the way I would not recommend buying from J&J power sports. I have tried multiple times to contact him and he refuses to reply about products I bought and questions. I did leave a review with the BBB. Any business that refuses to reply to its customers questions and or problems is not worthy of my business . Sorry for venting. Its frustrating

The OEM parts are usually a grade above most cheap parts because the OEM builders have selected parts based on their experience and knowledge that will not give them or their dealers problems with warranty claims. Experiment at your own peril.

People have already answered that question.
What I am trying to say is that the OEM parts on your scoot are not necessarily cheap or bad.

For example, many people will tell you polini or malossi are 'best', while others can demonstrate that the quality control from these two companies can be less than perfect in certain areas. If I were you, I would do as much research (a.k.a. googling AND reading what's googled) as possible and make my own decisions based on that.

Who can say what is "best."But if you buy something from Malossi, Polini, or stage 6 you have a better chance of getting something where the quality is consistent.

Parts for Scooters has a great rep & extensive experience in mods. Are you looking for streetable or all out race? If race, long race or drag/top speed?

Wow, Thats a good question I have not thought about. I dont even know what the difference between them is. Theres a shop out of Portland Oregon that builds performance scooters. Scooterswapshop.com I seen them going out for rides as a group , they were doing wheelies and just having fun. I decided I want my scooter to run like that. Im probably will have them build me a new motor and trany. It should be around $1500
