Just a quick question. I need to the Starter Clutch Bushing on the left crankcase. How do I get the old one out?

I guess I'll just buy a new one. I am converting from a short case to a long case. I thought I could save the old one. Thank a lot for your help.

Take some wheel bearing or suspension grease, or even Vaseline. Pack it into the LH CVT case starter bushing. Find a bolt/shaft/rod that is close to the bushing diameter, as close as possible without touching. Poke the bolt into the bushing, and whack it with a hammer. The bolt will act as a piston, and put pressure on the grease. The pressure will apply to all surfaces in the enclosed space as the grease will come close to acting as a hydraulic fluid. It will apply pressure to the inside edge of the bushing, and the bushing will be the ONLY place where relief can occur, except by leaking past the bolt. As you whack away, take the grease that squeezes past the bolt, and stuff it back into the bushing. Add more grease as the bolt does its thing. Soon you will be picking the bushing up from the floor when it comes free from the case. The bushing for the starter lever shaft can be removed using a suitably sized socket, preferably long enough to push the old bushing out. If not, find a sacrificial ratchet wrench extension and poke that into the socket, whack on the end of the extension. Any question? tom

Make sure you wrap a rag around that bolt/shaft/rod and bushing or you may get a lot of grease all over.
