ok so I have a 2012 scooter its a zhejiang lingyu vehicle industry, we took everything off and put a big bore on it and it woulds start, seemed like it was getting compression but wasn't pulling fuel we discovered a vacuum leak and fixed that, took it apart again to check timing and the RAA has broken our guess is from the abuse we had to give it to get the pins out to be able to change the arms. it wants to start i mean absolutely wants to, its getting gas in the carb and just won't turn over, the exhaust is popping air out during attempts to start but the exhaust valve rocker arm has no wiggleroom regardless of cam lobe position, we have a new RAA coming today and are gonna give it a once over but we are looking for a direction to start on the troubleshooting if the new RAA doesn't fully fix it all.

Will it start with starter fluid? It may be timing.

You can rotate the blower to bring the flywheel so the T lines up with the pointer built into the engine, and remove the cam cover to see if the cam sprocket holes line up with the gasket surface. It's easy to get one tooth off. You have another post going, so I'll only add to check for spark, and give it a squirt of fuel down the carb, with the throttle wide open, and try starting to see if it will even "POP". Don't run for any length of time without the shroud or you'll be back, replacing the piston, rings and cylinder all over again. Airflow is limited without the shroud, and it will overheat quickly. tom
