Whats up guys. Just wondering how hard it is to change the oil line to Carb is. The carb i have on now leaks oil from the line and im losing a good amount when the bike is sitting. Thanks.

Try some hose clamps or a zip tie, if it’s split and needs to be replaced you’ll need a flywheel puller to get to the oil pump that is behind the flywheel.

Tried zip tie and no luck. Its been like this for a while. Ahhh kinda sucks i have to take the flywheel off. Would any flywheel puller work? Like from AutoZone? Any special tools to out it back on? And where can i get replacement hose? Cuz i would take the carb off to test fit new lines.

You will need some 2.5mm inside is the pipe which goes from the oil pump to the carb or inlet manifold. When I replace that oil line, I take the pump off. It's much easier. You can then put the new pipe on. Undo the bleed screw, till oil comes out. Tighten it back up. Then I use a drill on reverse to turn the oil pump from the drive gear. Takes about 5 seconds to bleed through the pipe.

If your oil line is draining out then chances are good that your starving the engine for oil every time you start it. Not good.
You are asking for trouble if your being too lazy or cheap to take care of it immediately. Fix it pronto even if it means paying someone to fix it properly.

So i can pull it off the carb and see if it's pumping oil through the line? And i hope im not starving for oil. It doesnt leak a drip drip amount. But enough to get on the floor and make a mess.

How can i check if its pumping it through though? Pull the oil line off of carb and turn it over with the kill switch on. Aa in it wont start but crank. Never dove into this area of scoot maintenance before. Hence all the questions lol

The inside diameter of the pipe is 2.5mm. This is so it fits onto the pump, and nipple on the carb. You could just crank it over with the plug cap off. Oil should pump out the pipe. I wouldn't do it for long though.

Ok crank it but with the oil line off right? Lol seems obvious but never attempted this before. Just trying to make sure i dont damage anything.

Thats the oil line to the carb. It leaks out but not like gushing or squirting out when its running.

Hoses deteriorate, crack and swell over time due to petroleum products which is why they require periodic replacement. Just replace the line from the pump to the carb, while your in there you may want to check the line from the tank to pump and replace as needed. Use spring clamps to secure the ends and you’ll be good for a few years.
