hi all. new to site. I just picked up a 01 hyosung sd50 2 stroke scooter. it has a now spark condition. I am having trouble finding parts that . I am thinking it is the cdi which is a 6 pin one plug and is ac I think.. if any one knows for sure if it is ac or dc I would appreciate you posting that info. I know it is Korean and I think it is a copy of the Suzuki ae 50 .. I have read a couple of post that says it is a morini copy. the stator is all internal .. I mean even the trigger is mounted underneath the flywheel. no other on I have seen is like that..to date any way.. looking forward to any info on parts and or specs I can get.. cool site . thank you

Those are great solid scooters , there isn't a big selection of go fast parts for them but they are out there. I had a Hyosung SF50 engine and learned that the CDI on that was proprietery and it would only run with their CDI. I found that Heeters, an old Hyosung dealer had parts they were selling. Here is a link www.heeters.com/CDI.shtml. First I would confirm that your stator is good and that your plug and coil are doing their job. Here is a link to Brents guide to a no start condition that will help you test everything: 49ccscoot.proboards.com/thread/647?page=1#8069. Go through everything first before you put a new CDI on it, the old one may not be the problem.

is the coil plugged in?
is the spark plug wire firmly plugged in to the spark plug?

had to put it on the shelf for now. I did find the cdi.. you were right about it being proprietary ..more like predatory...
the numbers I get from the stator are a bit confusing..
looking to try a 6 pin 2 stroke sdi and pin it myself.. i'll post when I do..
thank you all...
