Ok so I'm new to this forum, this is my first post, so if I post in the wrong format I apologize in advance.
OK so here's the problem I'm having from the beginning. My belt broke, so I replaced it. I noticed around this time that my scooter would not stay running unless I gave it constant throttle. I figured it was about time to replace the carb and intended to in the near future. Before I could however, my belt broke once again at which point I noticed bluing on the clutch bell, when I removed it I noticed the clutch shoes were worn and was probably the cause of my belt breaking issues so I installed a new clutch assembly and new belt and cleaned the crank case and variator. After reassembly I could not get the scooter to start. It had been sitting for a month or so at this point and I remembered that I was having carb issues. I checked all the basics to insure I was getting spark, had compression, as well as fuel reaching the carb. While going over everything I realized that there was a hole in the vacuum line running from the intake manifold to the fuel petcock, causing me not to get gas to the carb. I patched this line temporarily " which I am going to be replacing very soon" just to see if I could get fuel to the carb. Engine still will not crank. So I inspected the carb which seemed like it was sticking and not letting fuel in. So I ordered a new carb because the stock one is sealed and from what I've read its usually better to just replace them anyway. So I get the new one on today and am still having problems getting it to start. It started for literally 5 seconds and died out and i be killed the battery trying to get it to start back again. At this point I'm not sure what to do and need any help or advice that I can get. This is my only means of transportation and I desperately need it back on the road. I apologize for the lengthy post but wanted it to be thorough. Thank you in advance for your help.
