This hose was running into the carb intake hose on the air box? I'm not sure what exactly it's called but I decided to take it off. There's a slight pressure coming out of this hose and I'm thinking I either need to let it dangle or plug it up? What is this and what's it's purpose? Has anyone come across this issue? Edit: sorry, forgot to post the link imgur.com/gallery/Jpq8c3f

It's a breather hose. It runs back into the intake so that it recycles the fumes. Don't block it or the engine won't run right.

Yep don't block that off or you will have oil leaking from allover the motor . That fuel filter is in that line to stop the mist of oil from collecting at the end of the hose or the ground and aid drain back into the motor so keep it up high so it can drain back ..
You might want to change that hose to some better quality hose looks like you already have a dry cracking hose . Maybe change all the hoses would be a good thing as soon as you can .

Yeah I'd bought plenty of replacement hose already as it sounds like mine is about to start rotting and such, I'm just waiting till I have the time and gumption to replace the lines. Thank you btw

A friend of mine 'took his time' with cracked and rotted hoses and ended up calling the fire department.
