Recently bought a BMS 260 EFI and notice the fuel pump is unplugged, but I can't see where its suppose to plug into (the pump is inside the tank). I'm not real familiar with these bigger scoots, so if anybody has a wiring diagram or an idea where the molex connector is suppose to go that's be great. Thanks!

Does it run?

No. The fuel isn't getting pumped from the tank.

Have you pulled the fuel pump assy out of the tank?

I have, in order to fix it from leaking.

What was leaking? Remove the pump again. There should be one or two wires connected to the pump. Did you cut them off, loose them, or were they missing? There also may be one or two wires for a fuel tank level sensor. There should be some sort of bulkhead connector to pass the wires through the fuel pump assy plate.

The seal wasn't aligned right so I had it off to fix that. Here are some pics of the pump. That first pic is of the connector coming out of the pump that I can't figure where it's suppose to plug in to. I can see any where arounf there it's suppose Togo. But everything on the internals of the pump look good. I'll be working on it today if you have suggestions. Thanks for the help!

I cut the connector because I found some wires that looked like the got ripped apart some how. But they're different colored than the pump's.

Here's the wires in question. The 3 connected there are for the fuel sensor

The red(+) and black(-) wires from the pump must be connected to the appropriate wires in the harness. Wire colors in harnesses frequently don't match components. Check the harness wires for voltage with the key ON. Check the operation of the pump by connecting it to a battery while it is out. Those pumps will overheat quickly when there is no fuel to cool them, so just power it momentarily. That yellow hose and filter(sock) goes down into the fuel towards the bottom of the tank when the pump is installed.

Right, I understand that the pump must be connected somewhere to the harness. But I have no idea where that might be. I read battery voltage on both of those wire hanging in that last picture. Ill run some wires straight from the battery to the pump and see if the pump is dead or not.

The red wire is probably power and the black/green wire is probably an I/O pin with a pull-up resistor and turns ON the pump by switching to ground. But, that could be backwards or wrong. See if either/both wires will light a test light.
Where was that connector cut off from?
What is the other harness connector for? I suppose one could always run Key ON power to the pump and bypass the computer but that sounds dangerous. There may be crash switches involved.

The connector in that earlier pic was cut from this side of the pump so I could test it. I just hook power to that yellow/blue wire and the black/purple to ground and the pumped worked (and the scooter fired right up)! But the pump does run all the time with the key on.. I don't know if that a good idea or not, it'd probably burn up, right? I'm at a lost of where to plug that other wire into permanently without a wiring diagram. Those cut wires from the other side of the scooter (shown in my earlier pic) all are powered with the key on.

Glad it runs!
The pump may run all the time, it depends on how the EFI computer is set??
It wont burn up if it has fuel to cool it.
It looks as if someone may have messed with the wiring. Who knows what they have done.
Keep looking for a proper wiring diagram or a manual, you will need one. Maybe even check with a stealership. That diagram is for a scoot with a carb.
