Greetings! New guy with a kymco agility 50 in NH. Just recently picked up this scoot to take to my new job (less than a 5min drive from my house) but find myself going for rides around the city after work.what mods do you recommend first to get the most out of my machine? I have engine knowledge but not familiar with scooters and where to find right parts, any guidance would be great! Cheers!

If you can solder, put a larger gauge plug wire on it if bike has a screw in type wire, and check/gap plug to 0.8
Check variator for a small washer between the two moon disks, it reduces top speed.
There are a variety of clutch and variator slider mods but really not worth screwing with a nice bike like a kym. Negligible results.
Really the only way to get serious extra umpph out of one of these is to slap a bigger cylinder and 44/47mm piston. Not too dificult if you are confident enough mechanic. Learn to set valves.
Also for serious tuner you can port out intake, exhaust, intake manifold, butterfly valve, etc with a dreme grinder
Have fun!

From what I understand, the Kymco brands were rpm restricted from the factory. I think there is a rpm sensor in the CDI that interrupts spark when the rpms get too high. Don't bet the farm. You will find 'derestricted CDI' on the market. I cannot vouch if they are indeed de-restricted or is is puffery. Some web posters have suggestions to 'cut the purple/green wire'. Personally, I would use a pick to remove the electrical connector from the plastic carrier rather than permanently cut a wire. Just in case, you know. Some may have a washer or small tube that limits who close the walls of the variator can get to each other. That will restrict the 'high gear' effect of a larger pulley driving a smaller one(the clutch end) by limiting the diameter the belt will ride at when the variator is fully extended. tom

Amazon has a yellow cdi box that ive put on my old agility and it took the top speed from 31mph to 37mph+. That 31mph limited crap sucks.
