91 seedoo xp 587 rotax twin. Took me a while to figure out why I didn't have spark and I wet the plugs a few times and blew them off with air gun. It now starts and runs on a garden hose but when I putt it in the water it won't Rev up. I'm thinking plugs but want a second opinion before I drag it back to the lake to try it?

I’m not familiar with their ignition, is the timing set correctly? I would think it’s fixed and non adjustable but worth a mention.

check jetting or oil mixture ratio. I was lean on idle jet and way to rich on the main. it would do the same as you describe. any mods to it? stock carb jets exhaust and cylinder, or aftermarket?

It's all stock. I think it was the plugs. I got home and it wouldn't even start on them. New plugs and it fired up first crank and ran good on the garden hose. Haven't had time to go back to the lake to try it yet.

The older 587 had Mikuni CV carbs? Not a fan of those as the engine ages. Your plug fouling can be from weak coils, rich mixture, bad oil to fuel ratio, improper timing...many things.
Time to pause and refresh! Miller time...Ohhh, nooo. Flat slide carbs! You likely have 38mm CV's...much can be improved!

I got it without a tether and had these plus dripping wet a handful of times before I figured out what was going on. Should have put a new set in before I went to the lake the first time. Hopefully I can get in the water this week and ride with the wife with both skies

I love it moofus! The best way to experience WOT on a two stroke, is with a water buffer at 100 mph!
Did my time on a solo ski, (racing) behind an 850 hp hydro boat. I did OK, until an errant turn forced an Ohhh ...fuuuuc#. Three broken ribs and fun-ass bruising!
That 23 year old's pain is still in my 63 year old back. I do scooters now.

I used to ride kawasaki stand ups. Had a 300,550 and 650 with a 750 motor. The big one hurry me lol.
I can't kick a water ski off to solo to save my life. Got to have enough boat to pull me out of the water on one ski. Old wood criss craft with a 312 ford y block is the only boat I've skied behind that could do it.
The 2 pwc I've got now should be a lot of fun. The next project is a 2001 yamaha 1200cc triple 2t. Oil pump died lost a big end bearing and piston swatted the head. Got to knock it apart and fix it. That one should be a riot when done and a good puller for water skiing. 155hp

All I can say is...Fun shit! I am a water boy...former rescue certified diver and 20 ton offshore boat operator. That was for fun! Now, at 63 years wrinkled sackage...I cannot dive due to heart limitations and have no boat.
So, I make parts for planes, trains and automoscooters!
