What exactly is the advantage of a longer ramp on a variator? I see a few for sale and mentioned. Seems like the weight will move a little further out increasing centrifugal force possibly moving the belt further out.

A longer ramp variator (i.e. Malossi Multivar) gives the rollers a longer ‘range’ to travel thus keeping the engine at better revs. The better revs will get you to your top speed at a faster rate. Usually this upgrade gives you much better take off acceleration AND a couple more top mph speed, this all of course is if you have removed your restriction ring near the boss that the factory puts in.
