I have an old Italjet Formula 50, but in almost perfect condition. It's been running great until it died the other day. I was running down a hill, came to a stop and it quit. Would not restart. Prior to that, no issues, running great.
I confirm I have good spark (removed plug, cranked engine, see good spark).
Petcock is working, confirmed vacuum line is working, fuel delivery is happening.
Pulled carb, cleaned out everything and reassembled.
I'm stuck -- can't see what's wrong. I have spark, fuel, and I assume compression.
It feels like it's an electric problem, some sort of defeat switch, but wouldn't a switch kill the spark?
Any thoughts?

Hi,welcome to the forum, there is a "no start solver" in the tech sec ,use the directory over on the left of this screen,to find it.I am not familiar with your scoot but we manage to fix most of them on here, bite the bullet and buy a compression tester so you can rule out the nasty one,be methodical take notes and pictures as you go through the process.is the plug wet, have you stripped the carb and cleaned every tube, jet and done it twice Geoff

Yes, for sure a compression check! If you were running downhill and it was good...or really good? You could have been running a bit lean...over time you could have a hole in your piston. Thus the fuel charge in confused.
If you see good spark? That is not it. Carb OK...
Your timing could be a goofed up also...depending on ignition type and mounting...but it sparks.
Curious! Let us know what you find.

Whelp... I think I'm in trouble. I got myself a compression gauge, and it registers zero when cranking it over. Since it's a new gauge, I double checked it by hooking it up to a small engine on my mower. Works fine, I get compression reading there.
So I fear the Italjet has suffered something catastrophic. What next?

If your lucky, it might be just a new cylinder, and piston. But then you will need to find out what went wrong.
