I had to replace the minarelli case on my 2008 Benelli x50. I took the crank and installed it in a case from a keeway scooter. The problem is when i install the variator that worked fine before it causes the crank to tighten up. If i use washers to space the variator the crank locks up. It seems to be pushing the starter clutch against the case. Has anyone ever have this problem.

did you install the spacer that sits between the crank and the starter clutch?

Yes it's their. not quite sure what you mean by flat ring. the spacer I'm referring to is like a small sleeve. it is similar in size to the. variator boss (sleeve) but it is not as long, the spacer is about 1/2" to 3/4" in length. basically it looks like a large roller weight that can slide over the spline shaft.

Yes you are correct. i looked on the old crank i had in the old case and their it was. I didn't notice it cause the crank was shot and after taking it out i threw it in the corner.
