The fit an finish on vettes is horrendous, but they're quick. Very wild too though. Not very controlled.

vanderhallusa.com/models/seen one of those the other day and its the first little guy that actually appealed to me but i dont think that or an atom is gonna be a great family car. just saying. though if you get one for the kids aswell problem solved. if they arent old enough to drive then still get 2 and have the old lady drive 1 and you drive 1. it will also fix the high pitched squeal most family cars have that come from the passenger side for some reason. youd think manufacturers would have figured that out by now but they are just barely fixing cabin noise issues so its still some years away.

The fit an finish on vettes is horrendous, but they're quick. Very wild too though. Not very controlled. I'm hoping the mid engine changes the handling. That's why I never wanted one until now. I wanted a Ferrari F430, but I don't like Ferrari's parts rules. They don't make it easy.
Still, the Vette avoids the surprise $40k bill because of something I screwed up. A friend is getting the first in our area and he'll let me take it for a spin. Chevy makes it so much easier with dealer support and warranty. There are no Ferrari or Lambo dealers near me.
My brother had a Polaris Slingshot. That was a massive POS. He had a steering arm or something snap and rolled into a parked car. Took all summer to fix and he sold it asap. He should've sued Polaris because it was a manufactured recall that wasn't done on his Slingshot, but it was marked as if it was.

my old snowmobile was the safest fun i ever had period but only good for 3-5 months. it was technically my stepdads but broke his tailbone so couldnt ride ever again. skidoo 670 rotax bambardier he had it built and was making 240hp but was too much for him to ride in the trails so had it toned down to around 200hp and it was disgusting. had to take the studded track off because he couldnt keep the front end down at any speed. topped out around 130 mph with skinny ole me on it and with a wore out track for safety could easily hit 130 in less than 1/8 mile. nothing haunts my dreams like the scream of the twin cylinders banshee wail at wide open through the woods. getting goosebumps thinking about it and a lump in my pants. cleaning out the pole barn one summer and he let me take it around the field 1 time after i begged and offered anything to feel it with traction. chores for a month and all the mowing. 1/4 throttle was terrifying and i could barely hold on. i hit it full throttle 1 time and instantly brought it back and went inside. i dont ever want to feel anything like that again. there is such a thing as too much and lets just say too much needed some multiplication to explain this I have a nice slight uphill near my house. It's where I test my mods. Had the scoot going probably 40mph on it. Had the snowmobile going 110mph.
Speed limit 25mph.

your snowmobile sounds like it may be a safer toy than the one we used to have and id love to ride it. there is a formula one for sale for 250 bux by me and i really keep eyeing it even if its just for the motor but i know i shouldnt but ugh big cc 2 stroke makes my man panties moist.
and idk if i would say the vette wont have any surprise big bills either. their current business practices are garbage as of the last 10 years or so and i refuse to work for them again or buy their new products as their "warranty" often goes unhonored and extended warranty or upgraded ones dont seem to cover anything either. for example a bumper to bumper warranty on a new car a friend bought wouldnt cover 1 repair he needed including some that made the car not run. or would destroy the motor if he continued to drive it and eventually all he could do was leave it at the dealer and let them take it back while still having to make payments on it until the remaining balance was paid off. the issues were withing the first 30k miles and he left it with the keys in it at under 40k. he paid extra for the bumper to bumper warranty and an extended warranty. all wasted money since he had to pay for everything including a car he didnt own. you wouldnt believe the amount of vehicles my old shop had to fix that were under warranty from many manufacturers that wouldnt honor their warranty it sickens me. but what can you do other than not support their shady business practices.
many of the repairs on the vettes i worked on there were in the thousands or 10,000's due to the sheer amount of time involved/cost of parts due to it being mostly vehicle specific. with them being a mid engine vehicle now its going to be even more im sure but if its what you want its what you want you cant put a price on happiness or an addiction. and if its a midlife crises well ive blown over 20 grand on those by now just between 2 of them and would do it all over again. it kept me sane safe and out of trouble so whose to judge ya know?
for now i keep my funds spread to show a little love to all my interests and slowly chip away at my wants and needs until im back into a real career again and can buy some things ive been waiting on like a bigger telescope upgrades for my computer and scooter and finish my v8 swap on my blazer so i can finish the stereo system in there. 1 18" sub wasnt enough even though the sheet metal wont handle much more its what i want and everyone thats listened to it loved it. its tuned low so its not obnoxious but it moves air and has been described as feeling like your floating or zero. i dont have to go fast to have fun in that thing.

Telescope? Are you into astronomy? I have a home observatory and a professional astroimaging setup. I’ve taken some great images.

yeah i am actually but sadly dont have the budget for the things i want. someday ill own a 16" meade lightbridge so i can finally upgrade from the 6" that i got from a friend. its alot better than the 4.5" reflector that i bought about a decade ago to get away from the crappy scope i got before that. i have my fingers in a little bit of everything but sadly my wallet isnt as large as my interests are. so things come and go at a slow rate but someday i find a way. id love to see some of your images if you dont mind so i can see what i have to look forward to when i can swing it.

I’ve been pretty serious about it for almost 10 years. I prefered astrophotography to visual. So I’d spend 10-20 hours imaging the same object, and then combine the exposures to reveal details you can’t see visually. I automated my setup, so it captured while I slept. Then I process in my free time. Until the past spring, I was running theastroimagingchannel.com. We basically chat about advanced imaging topics. We’ve had on at least 3 of the top 10 imagers in the world on. Now, some friends are running it, and I just stop in to say hi. Its such a great hobby, but can be a moneypit just like anything else.

its not a money pit if it brings you joy. call it a passion or addiction sounds way better. and im gonna page through those here in a few. i do appreciate it. and yes sadly digital camera is better than the eye as it can put light that isnt visible to the eye or damaging to visible wavelengths without the use of filters. and i know about the process your using its good ole image stacking i tried my hand in it a few times but couldnt get my hand on a good enough camera to have it be worth it. i used to want a cannon 450d as they were pretty good for a budget camera but didnt have the funds at the time to spend on one and when i had a better job i didnt have the time to get out at night to do it so i saved my dreams for another day. here soon though i may be back at it as ill be working a late shift if all works out but not too late. id get out of work around 1 am so perfect time and live in a dark area again so i wont have to load up and go miles away to find a random spot.

Lol. I like the way you think. Where do you live? I have an extra 16” mirror blank. Has a chip, so no good for imaging. Needs grinding and polishing and coating. Or my scope is open to anyone interested. Literally. Just have to be close enough.

i was hoping you didnt hate me for saying that but do you really blame me? those images are pure beauty. im in michigan again but was in fl for about 7 years trying to get my hands on the money in that state. i learned alot and i wouldnt change it but it was rough. lessons learned always come at a price. and really? a chip wouldnt bother me in the slightest as its infinitely better than what ive been able to get my hands on. depending on what you would want for it i would gladly take it off your hands if i can afford it. ik glass isnt cheap and i wouldnt expect you to lose anything on it but if its in your way i could possibly help with that. even with a chip or scratch it would make for a better viewing experience than i have now.

Its yours if you want it, but you would need to cover shipping. Also, it is a blank. Needs lots of hours of work. Maybe 100hrs of hand work. Will also need grinding grit and pitch for the polish. A smart guy with an extra electric motor and a workshop could potentially make a grindig polishing machine. Don’t know how much you know about what goes into it, but do anlittle research. If you want it, its yours. It would be cheaper to buy one then to make one, but you can make one of considerably better quality by putting in the time. Grit and coating are the primary costs after time.

i was looking into it last nite a little as i had plans in the past to pour an acrylic mirror someday and finish it if i couldnt buy a meade lightbridge. it seems as the grinding and polishing methods have gotten a little more user friendly over the years and i am 100% interested. it does take some hours but time is something i have on my side. even if i couldnt get the finish on it perfect or the chip would pose to be an issue front coating is always an option and would still make for a decent viewing experience compared to what i have at this point.
plus after i do it the first time ill have alot more comfort with it. ive worked with acrylic tons so im not scared of it anymore so this would give me the finishing exp i need to maybe pour a larger acrylic mirror when i have more space again. i wanted to make a spinning rig so that as the liquid setup it would make a parabola so the focal range would already be close and less finishing.
ill put some money to the side and when i have enough for whatever its gonna cost to ship ill send it to you for sure.
