Hello, I have a new (2019) sym jet4 125, but I want to change the headlight bulb for a more brighter one. However I do not see how I can easily access the bulb, I can reach it from underneath the front cover, but replacing it from that position looks tricky. Do I need to unscrew the front panel to access the housing.
Any help appreciated.
thanks dxtans

Thanks for the pointer 'small cc tek', wise advice, so now done this. If I had a small hand could probably do this lying down on the floor and reaching up. My wife's hand would not cut it as well. So had to undo the front panel, this gave me direct access to the bulb housing. Bit fiddly but took approx 30 mins to do.
Thanks dxtans

The designs of about all these machines makes service of the cluster a mess. Many fasteners and upside down motion required, and you don't know if you got them all until it comes apart. One thing is to be patient. If it seems to be stuck, take your time to find out if it is just binding plastic bits, or there is another, and ANOTHER!! fastener or two that was hidden... They were put together by people, so they can be taken apart and PBT by other people. Be sure to keep your fingers off the glass globe of any bulb you install. Either wear cotton gloves, or cover the bulb in a clean handkerchief(cotton cloth of some sort) when you go to pop it into the socket. These bulbs get muy calients, or very hot when they are on, and finger print oils can do a number on the glas. Exactly what, I don't know, but figure it will/can 'scar' the glass somehow. If you have a problem fitting it all back in place, take some time to move 'bundles' around so they no longer are working against the plastic fitting together properly. The clam shells should go back together without stress if properly 'adjusted'. tom
