I'm new to the 2 stroke world especially when it comes to these types of engines with the CVT I think I'm catching on ok but I joined this group to help answer questions I'm struggling to figure out. My son races a drr 50cc ac it seems to run ok but I know it has more potential. I recently installed a malossi aluminum top end on it after it blew up I haven't changed the pipe yet but I'm wanting to do that next. I'm trying to stay on a budget because I have 4 boys and I don't really have a lot on money to spend on it so I try to do everything I can myself. The biggest problem I'm running into is finding affordable parts are good used parts for the 50cc quad most aftermarket stuff seems to be in the 70cc and 90cc I have found a few pipes but there 70cc pipes what's the difference in the 50cc vs the 70cc pipe if I put a 70cc pipe on the 50 will it kill the low end or will I notice much difference between a aftermarket 70 pipe over a 50? Thanks in advance

You’ll need an atv specific exhaust so it fits, the scooter stuff just won’t fit. A pipe will sacrifice some low end torque for top speed but this can be overcome with proper cvt tuning.

Ebay has some decent used ones Kasea Eton Cobra pipes just make sure you get the head pipe with it . I have set up a few mini quads with the Cobra exhaust . Mini Quad racing is sweet we just don't get a lot of it on the West Coast all two wheel . A lot of fast Mini quad kids run 2 fast Roost Malossi . CVT tuning will be most important so you can get the proper hit from the motor off turns on to straights for jump set up ..

I appreciate the info. So do you guys think it would be ok to run a 70cc pipe on my 50cc quad? Down the road it will be a 70 but not for awhile .

Which 70cc pipe are you planning to run?A well designed 50cc cylinder should do well with a midrange 70 pipe,,
