I have s Yamaha Slider with Stage 6 MK 2 70 cc Sport Pro with stage 6 reed cage/housing. And Yasuni C 16 pipe and 21 mm Dellorto Racing Carb. I wonder if there is any BENIFITS or IMPROVMENTS to change the carb to a PWK carb with powerJet /Flatslide in carb size 19 mm or 21mm?? On some forum they say powerjet are useless in the smaller sizes... Steven

I would say it is a push at best . Assuming you jet it right The go to carb for modding the yamaha zuma 2 strokes has been the dellorto style .

Welcome to the forum. Someone else with a slider! 👍 I would not of thought you would see much gains if any. A couple of people have tried them, and found them tricky to set up, compared to a Dellorto.

In my experience the PWK sucks up a lot of fuel compared to a Dellorto. 21vs 21 id go with the Dellorto.

Cannot say that for your particular set up dell may be best, but after I went to a pwk from a polini cp which I assume is comparable.? Especially since you upgraded your reed cage i would personally go for a 23 -24mm pwk I noticed huge differences in top end and throttle response and yes a little les mpg n harder but not hard to tune. If you don’t mind the noise I’d go pwk all the way 21-28

Going to a different size carb is mostly just a question of jetting because you aren't resizing the intake tract between carb and engine.

Why this question? What are you after specifically? Would you consider other mods/changes for the price of a pwk carb if id yielded same or better outcome?

I am with Lucass...too general of a question, gets many general answers. We have flat slides that kick ass! Top end shite. Power bands hard to deal with. For street...get a carb that is easy to tune...and enure that your timing is F**kn puurfect! My experience is that people for for the shiny parts and ignore the functional ones. My choice is always: Tune ignition first, then tune the carb to meet it.

I bought my first PWK (Stage6 R/T PWK 21mm) ten years ago and never looked back, used Dellorto PHBGs before. Power increase was significant and it was much faster to tune

We tend to use PWK's for high range-top end and PHBG's for "cruising". IMO, the PBHG does better down low, and good through the power band, but the PWK from mid to WOT kicks! Air flow!!
