My buddy has been on the lookout for a scoot and an E Ton Beamer II popped up for $500 and looks to be in great shape. They're horizontal Mina's, correct?
Anyone have any input on them? I'm just not very familiar.

Are they Chinese or Taiwanese or what?

Why is that?

So aside from the standard Minarelli parts, are parts still pretty wildly available?

I’ll check them out. I’d imagine most parts from zuma and whatever other mina base scooters will fit. Something must be different about the gears though. Scooter tuning doesn’t sell them, but they sell Zuma gears.
Either way, they seem decent. My buddy is gonna buy it I think. Just wanted to make sure it’s worth the money. Seems worth at least $400 to me

I have rebuilt upgraded 2 of them . They are taiwanese. Alot of yamaha zuma 2t parts swap over .
They run a standard mikuni carb that is 18mm That use mikuni 11/22 jets stock jet is a 80 . He will need to cut a green wire on the back of cdi so it will rev past 8000 rpms . The Beamer stock exhaust is a non cat exhaust it revs to about 8500-9000 rpms than stock gears are like 13.3 to 1 . The beamer is about 10 lbs lighter. With a sport bbk and stock exhaust derestricted cdi
I find the fit and finish of the Zuma is a notch better . At that price he has plenty of room to mod

The gears that are in the beamer are pretty good ,with my set up I hit 58mph on flat ground an that's verified through GPS cause the speedometer is not accurate I'd offer him 400 Very nice looking scoot. I do like the styling better. Sounds like a good deal at $400, that's what I was thinking too.

Owner said it gets up to 40-42, so I'm wondering if he hasn't done the CDI mod. For my buddy, throwing on a halfway decent pipe and just getting it in tune may keep him plenty happy with this.

Only thing that sucks is you have to dremel out the restrictor An besides that inside the pipe if you unwrap the packing there's some stuff that looks like brillo ,I took that out an removed a little packing. Its louder but I love the sound. You can use a screwdriver or small chisel and hammer to pop that restricter very easily and in about two seconds as well. They usually come out pretty cleanly too.

At 40 mph sounds derestricted in the eton service manual available for download online it tells you which wire to cut in the cdi and the results from doing it are 40 plus mph.
The stock exhaust malossi bbk derestricted cdi with a new variator I was hitting 50 gps so A better pipe like the yasuni should push your buddy over easy enough .

I'll try and convince him to do a BBK, but I think he's on a fairly tight budget and he already has 5 motorcycles. Either a BBK or a good exhaust, maybe a new variator and getting it into a good state of tune and we can cruise around come riding season.
