So In the last year my brother has totaled 2 scooters. The first scooter is a 2018 Tao Tao VIP Future Champion cy50 he was pushing it home and someone ran him over. The second is a 2019 Jonway Solana. Some guy backed over his scooter just the other day and totaled the entire undercarriage of the frame.
Of the 2 the VIP frame is straight and the Solana frame is basically junk. The motor on the Solana is smoking fast. I told him to change out motors and replace body panels on the VIP. His complaint is the VIP turn signals break too much....but in my eyes its just he doesn't take care of them honestly.
Can I take the tail light turn signals off the Solana chassis and put it on the VIP chassis?
I know different frames and stuff but hes crying like a little girl over it and he doesn't seem to think it will match up.

A high percentage of the tail light and signal assemblies on these are exact duplicates. There are a few that are custom, mostly the machines that command more $$ when new. You have to remove the upper plastic panels and a narrow panel above the license plate mount to gain access to the lens screws. The plastic around the gas filler cap on most(necessary) has to have the lower panels removed before its fasteners are accessible. I short, start at the lowest panels, which go beneath the footrest area and up the side towards the rear. They will slide backwards ~1/4" to let some tabs come free after you remove about 2 screws and one bolt. The most forward is an 8mm bolt(I think), the rest being Philips. Then the uppers can be remove( the front part of the bucket cover has to come off also prior to the uppers). It has a couple screws, and about 3 tabs that need to be loosened from slots. The whole process is kind of a PITA. It seems all the parts are fragile, and only gain any strength when they are assembled and in place. It is real easy to snap the connection near the fuel filler cap as there are 3 pieces in most: center and two sides. The tabs WILL break unless you are careful. tom
