Hello. Seeing all the fun you 2 stroke guys are having on this forum, has really giving me the motivation to dirty my fluffy white tail. And so I shall, plunge my hands directly into the heart of these uncharted and hostile waters ( Or atleast get my feet wet ) Being that I live in europe, the yamaha aerox is pretty easy to come by, and one of the most pleasing to my eye and wallet. Seeing that I dont have much experience outside of the 4 stroke world, I wonder if this will be a good bike to start with. I'm gonna build a some what race bike, for the street, And I want to start out with something good, And avoid the following: A heavy frame. ( as this has been a major downside in the past ) Lack of parts available for the bike. A bitch to work on. Tell me what you think Cheers Mag.

Do it, do it, do it. Probably the best scooter to modify. Loads of bits available. The same basic engine since 2003. Handling wise one of the best. Brakes quite average. But options to vastly improve them. Lots of very rough examples out there, which have suffered loads of abuse. So pick wisely. I have been looking for a couple of years. Here in the U.K. They still go for strong money. It would cost more to fix up a cheap £500 aerox. Than buy a good one to start with. On the plus side. If you are rebuilding the engine from scratch. Perhaps a none runner is the way to go. The standard crank is not that strong. I know from experience!

Yes go get one,do not go all in at first get one running and upgrade as you please,it,s a yam 50 it will be left to your grankids if you leave it factory and 30mph,but that's not fun.Cooling is the key to 2T expect some bumps along the learning curve.

Sounds like a super bike to start with There is a few non running bikes for sale, and im surely gonna rebuild the engine, so that wont matter. There is a guy selling one that comes with a yamaha neos in the deal, do they have interchangeable parts like fairings and stuff?

The Neos is a lot different to the aerox. None of the panels fit. It's also got a different air cooled engine.
